Cancer journey information pack
The "Cancer Journey" information pack for people with learning difficulties was produced the Plymouth Project and funded by the Big Lottery.
It contains lots of resources which can help explain specific aspects of cancer itself, the tests, treatments pathway and living with cancer to patients with learning difficulties. The website has resources on:
- What is cancer?
- MRI scans
- CT scans
- The gamma camera
- Hospitals stays
- Follow-up appointments
- Palliative Care
It also contains materials for health professionals to help them communicate these resources effectively to patients with LD.You can view and download the resources from the Plymouth Project website.
End of life resources for people with learning difficulties
Northgate & Prudhoe NHS Trust have developed a pack: "End of Life Care" - A Resource Pack for those caring or supporting people with learning disability at the end of life, this resource is available in hard copy and CD and is at present free of charge to people who request a copy. However it is necessary to send a stamped addressed envelope. This work was funded from EOLC local monies in partnership with NHS North East and Edinburgh University. The pack contains a section on accessing local regional and national resources.
