Treatment pathways

Supplementary local information

The Generic patient information pathways have been developed by the National Cancer Action Team (NCAT) to address quality of life issues some or all of which may be relevant to offer at different stages of the cancer journey.

Information should be offered from the appropriate national tumour specific pathway following an information needs assesment, either in printed or email format from the National Information Prescriptions System, or in hard copy.  This information should be supplemented by local information, and will form an 'Information Prescription.'

When appropriate, information should also be offered from the non tumour specific pathways, and where relevent, from the specific treatment pathways for chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

Reference should be made to the Network Cancer Services Directory, and relevant print-outs offered to those without internet access.
