National cancer information pathways
National Cancer Information Pathways have been developed by the National Cancer Action Team (NCAT) in partnership with key charities, healthcare professionals and patients/carers. They aim to ensure that accurate and comprehensive core information about cancer is accessible to all patients across England at the point of need. The pathways set out what can be offered at the different key points along the person‘s pathway (not what must be given as what‘s needed will vary with the individual).
Direct links to the pathways, hosted on the National information prescriptions service (IPS) are provided below, for your convenience.
N.B. Although it is possible to view the pathways content without logging in, Healthcare professionals using the system should create an account and log-in to the system to access the full range of functionality.
Additional locally agreed information
In addition to the national pathways content, supplementary locally agreed documents are also listed:
Organisations are encouraged to submit any locally produced materials to NHS Choices for addition to the National Information Prescriptions System (IPS). For more infomation on the national pathways and the IPS, please visit our pages on Patient Information Prescriptions.
