Diagnosis & Treatments

Radiotherapy

Most people experience symptoms and begin by seeing their GP. If the GP thinks that the symptoms may be caused by cancer, s/he will examine the patient and refer them on to a specialist at the hospital for tests and treatment if necessary (Urgent 2 week referral).

Information about some of the more common tests can be viewed in diagnosis and tests.

For information about where particular tests and treatments take place see cancer services.

There are many books published on the subject of cancer. The books listed have been recommended by both healthcare professionals and patients and carers. Every care has been taken to ensure these books are of good quality, accurate and up to date.  Sussex Cancer Network is not responsible or liable for the information contained in the books, and this information should not be viewed as a substitute for the medical advice from a health professional
